Players MUST have played at least 1 NHL game to be on your roster.
Trade Restrictions:
- No draft picks beyond the next season can be dealt.
- Prior to the draft, no draft picks beyond the 5th round can be dealt.
- No draft picks that are not needed in the current draft can be dealt. (applies to draft in progress). To trade a future round pick while the draft is in process, the trading
team MUST have sufficient open slots that show a need for those picks.
Otherwise, those slots are not considered valid for trading.
- Any trade deemed 'not in the best interest of fair play' will be vetoed. The veto is extremely rare in this league. Players have played with a high level of respect for each other. It is the cornerstone of the longevity of the league. It will be protected if needed.
Roster Moves:- Due to league activity, league has voted to incorporate a maximum for the amount of roster moves (FA Adds, Farm Call ups) that can be done in a season. I will set the max at 40 moves for the regular season and three per match-up.
- There is no limit on trades.
Draft Eligible:
- In order for a player to be eligible to be drafted in the Waiver Draft he must have played in an NHL game.
- In order for a player to be eligible to be drafted in the Entry Draft the forward/defensemen must be 24 or under and played in less than 180 NHL games Oct 1st of that season. Goalie game limit is set at less than 60 games. He also must be at least drafted or signed (FA) by an NHL team.
Farm Team Makeup:
- 6 players: Forwards/D-men must be 24 or under and played less than 180 NHL games. Goalies must be of same age and played less than 60 NHL games.
Farm Team Eligibility:
- The purpose of your farm team is to allow you to take stock in players and allow them to develop, without taking up a roster spot on your active roster.
- To be farm eligible they must meet ALL of the following criteria:
- · 24 years of age or under - If player turns 25 at any point durning the regular season he is not farm eligible.
- · Played in 179 games or less (D-men/forwards) 59 games or less for goalies.
- A player deemed eligible for the farm may stay on the farm even if he is turning 25 during the regular season; however, players that have surpassed the eligibility limits can NOT be sent BACK to the farm. They must go to waivers if removed from the main roster.
- Farm players are allowed to go back and forth from Farm to Active roster and N/A slots throughout the season. You may then also sign a farm eligible player to fill the void left by your call up. The rules are reversed when you send a player down to the farm.Only players that have appeared in an NHL game are eligible for an- N/A slot.
- You may ONLY call a player up if they are currently playing in the NHL. This is to keep rosters as strong as possible.
- Players with Waiver status on Yahoo must pass through unclaimed. Only players with FA (Free Agent) status can be claimed for the farm.
- If you pick up someone else's player, your roster transactions will be frozen for three days.
Farm-ineligible Players entering the NHL:
IF any player who is no longer farm eligible is entering the league, they may not be
be claimed until AFTER the first NHL game is played. IF multiple GMs express an
interest in this player EITHER before that first game or within 24 hours after that
game is played, a special WAIVER process will be held for that player. The
claiming team with the best waiver position, will be awarded that player's rights.
The awarded team must then officially add that player with 24 hours. of the noted
award. Failure to do so will negate that award and the player will be awarded to
the next in line. Waiver order will be adjusted to note the use of the waiver
claim.
Roster Protection:
- At the end of each year, you can choose up to 14 players to protect (revised for 2020-21 season) from your active roster. These are the players that are will not be farm eligible for the new league season in which the draft is taking place.
- If you have players that meet the farm eligibility rules, you will not need to protect them. They are exempt if you so choose to keep them for next year "for free". This includes your farm guys also.
Draft Order:
- New for 2025-26 drafts:
- ENTRY DRAFT: To foster competitive play, the entry draft will be by the following final order of finish: 14- 13 - 12 - 11 - 10 - 9 - 8 - 7 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1
- WAIVER DRAFT: The order for the first round will be by the following final order of finish: 14 - 13 - 12 - 11 - 10 - 9 - 8 - 7 - 6 - 5 -4 -3 - 2 - 1. This draft will be a standard draft. Change is effective for 2026 Waiver Draft.
Grounds for Removal:
- Failure to compete, update line-ups regularly.
- Missing in action for weeks at a time (without notification).
- Failure to meet deadlines.
- Behavior detrimental to the welfare of the league.
